is a professional Bay Area DJ and singer/guitarist and who has performed at 1000+ Bay Area weddings and events. He founded All Ears DJ in 2010 to offer an alternative to cheesy wedding DJs and share great music with music lovers who want to go crazy on the dance floor.

 

Richard is a premier club DJ in Oakland and San Francisco with residencies at Oakland's Bar 355, Ruby Room, Radio and Portal. He's been the go-to DJ for preeminent brands like Louis Vuitton, Virgin Airlines, Google, Toast & Taste Gala, 2358MRKT Gallery, Docusign, Skechers, Duncan Channon, Startup Grind, Alibaba, The Wine Star Awards and Michelin Star restaurant Bardo. He also hosts karaoke at Merchants Saloon and Spats as the comically-inclined KJ of @eastbaykaroke.

Richard is no slouch on the decks, incorporating creative beatmatching, looping, and sampling into his jaw-dropping DJ performances. Spin his mixes on Mixcloud to hear 100+ live performances. In 2020 Richard launched a goofy YouTube series called "No One Asked A Wedding DJ" to reveal his true cheesiness and love for DJing weddings.

 

In his former life as a Midwesterner in Chicago and Kansas City, Richard was a music journalist who wrote for publications like Rolling Stone and The Pitch. He also served as the music director for KJHK 90.7FM in Lawrence, KS. He is currently working on his fourth album with his band Hidden Pictures while living in Oakland with his cats Miss Cleo and Rambo. Richard has also created and performed music with projects including The Flaming Lips, Ghosty, Berwanger, Son Ambulance, OK Jones, Lesbian Jungle and Kissanova.

In addition to DJing your dance party, Richard offers a unique option to perform live acoustic music for your wedding ceremony and/or cocktail hour.
